Sorry i was confused about what you ment so I thought I'd clear it up just in case anyone is being as slow as me...because the responses/corrections were right, for the most part, but confusing as well:

offhands at max have:

+12 energy (stat requirement)

staves at max have:

11-22 dmg (stat requirement).


So...I'm puzzeled as to A.nets response, are they planing to have staves energy and dmg both be dependant on stats? Staves lose out to begin with, 15 max energy vs 17 max energy for a wand/offhand combo...this would make the imbalance worse. Yet, it would make sense in a way as wands have stat effected dmg and offhands have stat effected energy...but then why would you ever use a staff now unless you had nothing better or liked the skin, where as before staves were useful in some situations like with ranger trapping or one really nice ele staff with good universial recharge/casting mods(yea I know the second one really isn't all that useful but more so now then if they change it)...where the energy is needed but the damage doesn't matter. Seems like if they do change staves, staves should provide as much energy as a wand/offhand combo or some other differing bonus to make the choice logical instead of emotional...unless you're gonna argue staves are just the cheaper alternative. I want to be able to use a staff and know it's the most effective/efficient choice....staves just look better imo in some cases yet I find myself using all wand/offhand combos as it's 2 more energy...yea I went out of my way for gold wands but it's the potentail I'm talking about more then what any player really has. I mean how many players have perfect staves...excepting greens.

Yeah bugged,shoots arrows and it also only has 1 upgrade making it pritty rubbish tbh as the daggers come fully modded.

yea but it's enchanted and it allows you to add whatever mod you want to it...staff > daggers when they get it fixed

Just discovered this thread - and it is indeed true, as I learned almost immedeatly after the recent update that added the pre-order items.

My story:

I send a bug report to arena net with all needed information (excluding a screen shot)
I get a reply requesting a screen shot
I take one and send it in, along with the rest of the report
I get a reply saying the screen shot is to big (by about 100kb)
I never bother to get around to sending another report
With the report/quiz thing they ask afterwards about their service (im slightly tired right now and cant think of what it is called), I explain to them how, if they are unable to even look into this because of a lack of a screenshot small enough, they are incompetent, because the item is spawned on every character of every account with a pre-order key, and is ALWAYS the same, and they should rethink how they deal with these issues - also, on another thread, I think roughly 5 days ago, I mentioned the spiritbinder, replying to someone asking about it only giving +5 energy if I remember correctly.

I have yet to see this fixed - maby anet will acualy take action this time, if they manage to see this damn thread (I'm still not convinced they acualy read threads on fan-sites as they claim, or at least not near enough to acualy make noticable improvments to the game)

I have not noticed anything rong with the dragon fangs yet, although I am unable to test their damage and dager mastery mod right now, and havnt tried testing the poisoners grip.

Also, someone else mentioned (I think in the post mentioned above, in another thread), the spiritbinder shoots out arrows - I do not know if this is a bug, glitch, ect. or meaned to be this way (personaly I like it)

Sorry if someone mentioned this previously, I read through only about half the first page of the thread, due to bordom and fatigue

Shooting the arrows is a bug as it says it does chaos or dark damage not piercing lol.

yea there is no way to get a 9 in communing yet. so of course the preorder item will not give you the +10 +5 energy yet. Try making your domination magic 0 and see what happens... same thing...

so its not bugged. nice try though. lol

Oh and ShadowMagus make the bug report, and the person that request the SS do a standard email to them via [email protected] Or [email protected] depending on what department it says they are from. and put attention and their name. That will get you forward to the right people... The reason the image size is so small is they want to prevent image flooding on the service pages. You can also link to the image from image-shack or any number of other services if you don't want to do it via e-mail. That's my personal recommendation. I also make use of fraps for some reports... Like when we did the Portal Bug reports back during the betas... It was useful to them to see where exactly it was happening and realign the portals on the maps to the correct corrordenates. Thats where the debugging options came in handy... cause they can see that stuff right in the video as is happens...

Typically they are very receptive to constructive and useful bug reports. as long as they are detailed in such a way to be able to reproduce the problem. The arrow graphic is something they are aware of already... I will not go into details on it, but its something they will have fixed with factions. Its simply a temporary graphic that is in place right now. heck when I first got the Preorder items added to my account and equip them. I had large blanks over the missing animations for the daggers. It was obvious they were not ready for people to start plugging them into game quite yet, but quickly fixed the problem upon reports of it happening.

Uhhh...staffs have always given you the +10 energy and +5 energy even w/o the req. Go try putting 0 domination with a domination staff...see what happens. Nice try though.

Okay guys, the whole reason why it's "bugged" is because technically they're not supposed to be usable yet. I can't remember where I heard this, but that once Factions is actually released, the items will be upped to their true functionality (+15 E, instead of just the +5 from Insightful head).

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but the /preorder command is *supposed* to work with the Prophecies campaign items at this time, and if you don't have an original PO item, the /preorder wouldn't work and would end up doing nothing.

So, just wait. Our precious Dream-Catchers will end up working in the near future. (1 Month and 8 days)

It seems some of the people who've posted here don't quite understand the issue.

The item is:
Dark dmg: 11-22 (communing req 9)
+10 engery
halves casting time of spells (10% chance)
halves recharge (10% chance)
+5 energy

There are NO requirements on either of the energy boosts. So even without communing you should get an unconditional +15 energy, which it does not do. It only gives you +5

Anyways, it's already reported so move along, move along.

To who? You? I've never had a problem with them.

It is appearent that the staff is bugged so that it requires a non-defined ammount of attribute points in Communion. If that is the case, the support staff is right.

Or, perhaps, its just bugged not to give energy at all.

Yup, its bugged. +10 energy has always been unconditional on a staff regardless of the profession. Unless they plan on making the +10 energy conditional when factions is released, but the staff stats are unconditional at the moment. LOL, I wanted to use this staff on my trapper also before factions is released. Hopefully they will fix it prior to release.

If it came with a +30 fort or 20% Enchants then no one would want greenies anymore.

I've also been getting really pissed at people saying "You need communing to get the bonuses duhhhhhh." Then I ask them if they've ever played a caster before... I'm assuming if they don't fix it, then the Spiritbinder won't be a staff at all, and it will be a new item that actually is conditional. Easy way to test: Try putting staff wrappings on it (unless you can't put mods on a preorder item... If that is the case then /cry).

Wrong. They've since updated the game to allow people, who didn't have pre-order items to Prophecies, to have the capability to use the /preorder function for their Faction items. The items have been provided to EVERY person who bothered preordering; the staff is simply bugged at the current time.
